There are voices in my head that never stop, invading me even in my sleep.
I found out that the only thing to make them stop is to get them all out of my system... I write.

Training My Little Hands To Learn to Draw Again

Sometimes, I have this paranoid thought that my hands would one day forget how to draw. I know it’s a crazy thought. Humans have always had this innate desire within us to try to make sense of our existence and of the world around us through drawing. Our earliest ancestors, the cave people have already learned this craft thousands of years ago.

My drawing and doodling habits have stopped since January this year. Ten months of hiatus is such a long time and I’m thankful that finally, I managed to command my hands to hold that pencil to draw again.

My husband, Aaron have bought me a new leather-bound sketch pad. I have been doing some mindless drawing for the past few days. I’m kinda’ training my little hands to draw again. I had fun playing and experimenting with washes, I really don’t want to forget how to draw.  :)

In this drawing, my hands still felt a bit stiff, but they’re starting to loosen up again.

I’m trying to experiment in layering different washes, I’m actually not used to doing this technique.

Here’s trying a bit of semi-abstract drawing.

Trying out dots to create an atmosphere

Experimenting with movement

Drawing faces

Mixed media: pen and watercolour

Nice work. I like seeing your hand in abstract work – it’s fresh to see different styles being tried out =) Keep on drawing, keep on rockin!

Thanks Camille. It really feels awkward to try other styles but I guess we always need to try and get out of our comfort zone. Sometimes it’s liberating, but oftentimes its confusing. In the end, it’s this feeling of “awkwardness” that makes our work exciting. Let’s continue to inspire each other. :)

I like your blog’s raw-ness feel and the vintage texture of your site’s pages. It’s inspiring. Thank you.
