There are voices in my head that never stop, invading me even in my sleep.
I found out that the only thing to make them stop is to get them all out of my system... I write.

Asian Art and Ceremonial Pieces

A client asked me to create watercolour illustrations depicting Asian elements to add interest to their website. Their office holds some interesting trinkets and ceremonial pieces.

Here is what I handpicked from their delightful collection:

Hahoe Dance Mask from Korea

Korean Mask, Watercolor Illustration

Chinese Chest and Southeast Asian Burial Jar

Chinese Chest and Southeast Asian Burial Jar

Chinese Chest and Southeast Asian Burial Jar, Watercolour

Concepts of spirituality and celebration have been attached to these pieces.  Drawing from these still life figures give me a sense of connection to the concepts encapsulated within these inanimate objects.

Maybe some objects do carry a piece of history engraved within its form.

I always liked how you work with watercolor… or any medium in color.. never was good with colors, having a hard time deciding what color complements what. NICE works Jessette! As always!

Thanks Paolo. :D I think we’re both fans of each other’s work. We have been “painting contest buddies” since grade school. I love your realistic paintings. You might want to try to be a little playful with your art though and try to experiment with colours. :)
